According to foreign media, recently, Support Shepherd, a well-known foreign recruitment platform, abandoned its original matching domain name SupportShepherd.com and successfully acquired Somewhere.com for $400,000 (about RMB 2.88 million).
The platform's original domain name was supportshepherd.com, registered in July 2019. When interviewed, the company's director said that the domain name was too long, not many people could remember "Support Shepherd" accurately, and the name didn't make much sense and was misspelled time and time again even by some very smart people.
The newly upgraded domain name Somewhere.com was registered in January 1995, and the word "Somewhere" in Chinese means "在某处，在某地方" which is very relevant to the recruitment industry.
