Abstract:

Reportedly, at least two domain names were sold in the final .ai expired domain name auction earlier this month—insure.ai was sold for $24,700, and dog.ai was sold for $21,311. They were the third and fourth most expensive

While some people are busy acquiring domain names in bulk, others may choose not to renew their domain names or miss the renewal deadline. .ai domain names have become increasingly popular in the past two years, but there are still some individuals who, due to economic reasons, decide not to renew them.

As a result, the government of Anguilla has recently auctioned off a new batch of expired .ai domain names, including a few single-letter domain names and a large number of three-character domain names. The list comprises a total of 1,878 domain names.

Reportedly, at least two domain names were sold in the last .ai expired domain name auction earlier this month—insure.ai was sold for $24,700, and dog.ai was sold for $21,311.

They were the third and fourth most expensive domain names sold in the early auctions. The Whois information for the domain names still shows the current registrant as the registration management organization, indicating that the winning bidders may not have made payment.

Other noteworthy English dictionary word domain names include: Technical.ai, bucharest.ai, fulfilled.ai, annotated.ai, sponsorship.ai, forged.ai, crowdly.ai, springboard.ai, and queer.ai.

Some .ai domain names expire at auction, sell for more than $20,000

The list stands out for the frequency of the term "meta"—well over 100 times. This is likely due to the following three facts:

1) .ai has a minimum registration period of two years,

2) expired domain names take 90 days to auction,

3) Facebook renamed itself Meta in October 2021.

For the masochists among you, some obvious domain names for snatching are also listed for sale, including facebookmeta.ai, facebookmetaverse.ai, and facebook-metaverse.ai. Remember that .ai is also subject to the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP).
