In less than a week, we'll usher in the brand-new year of 2024. As professionals in the domain industry, it's essential to review the transactions of 2023. Due to data limitations, we can only rely on publicly available information. We've compiled the top 10 transactions for three, four, and five-letter domains in 2023. Let's take a look together.
(Note: Current exchange rate: 1 USD ≈ 7.1432 RMB).
Three-Letter .com
Three-letter domains, being simple and memorable, are popular in both end-user and investment markets. The top-ranking domain is "max.com," which was sold for $1.8 million on November 5, 2023, and is currently in use. The 10th position goes to "rey.com," sold for $140,000 on November 24.
Four-Letter .com
Most four-letter .com domains consist of commonly used words, making them highly valuable. The top-ranking four-letter domain is "help.com," sold for $3 million in 2023—higher than the three-letter "max.com" transaction. The 10th position is held by "relu.com," sold for nearly $60,000.
Five-Letter .com
While five-letter domains may not be as popular as three and four-letter ones, their value depends on the meaning of the domain. The top-ranking five-letter domain is "peace.com," which garnered attention in the domain industry. It was sold for $400,000 on December 14. The 10th position goes to "bosun.com," sold for $27,500.
These are the top 10 transactions for three, four, and five-letter domains in 2023. Among them, three-letter .com domains remain the most popular worldwide. Two-letter domains did not have publicly disclosed transactions in 2023, with some like the highly sought-after ai.com reportedly sold for $11 million, currently under confidentiality.
It's evident that shorter domains are more popular. There are fewer than 100 two-letter .com domains currently available on the market. If you have funds to invest, domain investment may be more reliable than stocks. What do you think?
