According to the registration authority, the country-code top-level domain (.ai) registration authority has sold over 50,000 domain names in just one quarter.
As per their recently updated website, as of September 23rd, the total number of domains under their management is 306,861, compared to 248,609 on June 14th.
This represents an accelerated growth since their last update, which showed the registration of over 100,000 domains within a year.
Due to the rise of artificial intelligence technology and the popularity of chatbots like ChatGPT, .ai domains have become highly sought after.
The registration authority states that their domain renewal rate exceeds 90%, which is remarkably high for a top-level domain. However, due to its rapid growth, they anticipate this rate to decrease.
The registration authority is managed by the government of Anguilla, a British overseas territory located in the Caribbean.
