Recently, Escrow, a well-known foreign domain name trading platform, released its Q3 2023 Domain Name Investment Index report, revealing the trends and changes in the domain name market in the third quarter. Compared with the second quarter, the total transaction volume dropped slightly, but some of the domain name categories performed notably.
According to Escrow's report, total domain name transactions slipped from $89 million in Q2 2023 to $85 million in Q3. However, median prices remained stable across most domain categories during the quarter. Notable highlights include:
1. The price of domain names containing the hyphen "-" increased to $1.12 million from $223,000 in the second quarter of 2023.

2.After hitting an all-time high of $300,000, the median price of a four-digit .com domain name fell back to $25,000, returning to normal levels of previous quarters.

3. The value of ".ai" domain names slowed in the third quarter of 2023 to $1.3 million from $1.8 million in the second quarter of 2023.

Overall, the domain name market showed mixed results. While the total transaction value declined, the transaction value of content-free domain names increased, from $40.6 million to $49.7 million per quarter. This shows the market's continued interest in higher potential content-free domain names.
