According to foreign media reports, Amazon saw a significant surge in AI.bot domain registrations on October 30th!
The associated costs are as follows:
Registration: $68.98/year
Renewal: $75/year
Transfer: $75/year
(Some domain names might be premium or blocked. .BOT domain names can only contain ASCII characters a-z and 0-9. The use of emojis or IDN characters is not allowed.)

Some speculate that the recently opened .bot suffix may top the charts in new registrations. In a way, ".bot" is being compared to ".ai".
In reality, Amazon introduced .bot back in 2017. However, Amazon imposed restrictions on domain registrations. It was limited to the AI industry, meaning that a bot had to be present to register a domain. Very few registrars (and registrants) could meet this condition.
Amazon stated: ".bot is a space for developers to find and discover bots for their end customers." At its launch, the domain was available only to users who had published chatbots through Amazon Lex, Microsoft Bot Framework, or Dialogflow.
In other words, registrants needed to verify ownership of their bots on these platforms to register a domain. For instance, Amazon Lex users had to create an AWS "cross-account role" and provide additional information during registration.

Therefore, .bot faced a decline.
This week, Amazon finally removed the restrictions on .bot registrations. Now, anyone can register.
On the first day of unrestricted registration, the domain count in the area increased from approximately 1,300 to over 2,000. Despite the limited issuance, it remains highly popular.
