A few months ago it was originally scheduled that .com domains would go up on September 1, 2024, but a certain platform actually raised their prices on August 30th, which caused a lot of dissatisfaction among domain investors. It was thought that they raised the rates two days earlier to pocket the difference. Some also said that it might be that the platform was not working on a double holiday, so they raised the prices in advance.
Verisign will increase wholesale costs by 7% under its registration agreement. Wholesale prices for .com domains will rise from $9.59 (roughly Rs. 69) to $10.26 (roughly Rs. 74), and retail domain registrars may pass on the price hike to their customers, but it could be more than a 7 percent increase.

That said, if you want to take advantage of the pre-increase prices, you should renew your .com domain name before the price increase. Consider transferring your domain name for the same savings as well. Domain registrars sometimes charge customers after the transfer is complete, so depending on where the domain is registered, it may be too late.
Last week, an investor transferred more than 50 .com domains to GoDaddy that he held at different registrars after an auction expired. He tends to keep almost all of his domains in one account to make sure they don't get “lost”. The Verisign price increase has prompted me to move more domains to a single account at a single registrar.
