In August, Domain Name Summit 2024 concluded its four-day conference in London, UK, which was held from August 19 to 22 at the Hilton London Metropole. This time, due to DN's CEO JACK was busy, he didn't have time to come to the site. Slightly regrettable. But being able to see the pictures online was not a big problem, so let's take a look at the reports that seemed to be coming in from the field:
Conference founder Helmuts was thrilled with the increase in attendance and the positive feedback that continued to pour in on social media. “It was a huge success!” He began. “We had over 250 attendees from all over the world, and everything went well on the first day (Sunday, August 19th), with Team Internet CEO Michael Riedl arranging a wonderful tour of the TeamInternet offices for some of the attendees. That evening, it.com Domains generously hosted a great social gathering on the top floor of the Hilton London Metropole.”

The next morning (Tuesday, August 20), the conference got underway with a business session followed by a technical update, which Helmuts said was particularly gratifying. “With the great support of Nicky.me, a super-simple encrypted payment service, and the ShortDot Registry, we were able to upgrade our demo screen to a wide-screen LED wall this year,” Meskonis said, ”which made it easier for attendees to enjoy the speakers, the dynamic presentations and our speakers!” The keynote address was delivered by Michael Riedl, CEO of Team Internet, and another welcome address was delivered by Nigel Hickson, Senior Advisor on Data Protection for the UK Government, who is well loved and well known in our industry.
Pictured above is Team Internet CEO Michael Riedl's opening day keynote, which also featured a sharp LED demo screen that was warmly received by attendees. With the help of Michael and upgraded technology, the audience (below) loved what they saw.

Everyone Loves the “Ask Me Anything” Sessions at Domain Name Summit
Tess Diaz invited Shortdot CEO Lars Jensen to a great AMA event on Tuesday afternoon.
While we've only scratched the surface of Day 1, Day 2, Wednesday (Aug. 21), was equally informative, with more than 20 presentations and panels over the two days, and Meskonis said the mobile ecosystem was well represented with MEF, Aegis Mobile and Virgin Media O2 all in attendance. James Williams (MrConnectivity) participated in Wednesday's session, “Business Messaging: Maximizing Loyalty and Profits,” Helmuts added, “Another highlight of the second day was the presence of David Barnett (MrConnectivity), a brand protection expert with 20 years of experience. Another highlight of the second day was the presentation by David Barnett (Stobbs), an expert in brand protection with 20 years of experience, on scientific research related to domain names. We even got a new perspective on Gen Z's take on domain names from the bright young 15 year old Charlotte Riedl!”

BELOW: 15-year-old Charlotte Riedl may be the youngest speaker at a major domain conference in the history of the industry - and if you've heard her speak, you know you'll be hearing a lot more from her in the years to come!
Summarizing, Helmuts said, “I was worried that no one would show up, but I was moved to tears when I saw that the room was packed, especially for Michal Riedl's inaugural talk, that the walls were also filled, and that the front of the booth was filled with spectators!”
