The price of New Zealand's national top-level domain name .nz will be officially increased from July 1, 2025. According to the notice of the official registration management agency InternetNZ, the wholesale price of registrars will be increased from the current 18 New Zealand dollars to 22 New Zealand dollars, an increase of 4 New Zealand dollars, or about 2 euros.

This is the first price adjustment of the .nz domain name since 2020. InternetNZ said that this move was mainly due to the continued increase in operating costs over the past five years, covering infrastructure investment, staffing and overall operation and maintenance expenses. The pressure of related expenses has exceeded the agency's tolerance.
In addition, as the traffic growth during the peak of the epidemic gradually declined, the growth of new domain names slowed down, and the space for revenue growth was limited. At the same time, regulatory compliance, data privacy protection and sustainable development-related expenses around critical network infrastructure also rose simultaneously.
This price adjustment will affect all newly registered domain names, renewals of existing domain names, and domain name transfer operations. However, InternetNZ promised that it would not adjust prices again in 2025 and would remain stable throughout the year.
