It was recently revealed that the sale of two important geographic domains, Sweden.org and SouthKorea.org, owned by DigiMedia appears to have been finalized. According to the information, the two domains have now been transferred from DigiMedia to a UK-based registrar.
Sweden.org and SouthKorea.org were registered in 2005 and 1998, respectively, and are the .org top-level domains corresponding to Sweden and South Korea. Both domains currently resolve to a login page indicating that they are now registered on the SafeNames platform. WHOIS information is kept private to further protect the privacy of new registrants.
DigiMedia is known for its portfolio of premium domain names, and has been selling some of these older domains frequently in recent years. This transaction is the first time we've seen a geographic domain name sold by DigiMedia, demonstrating the company's continued efforts to optimize its portfolio of domain name assets.
