According to the last half-dozen months of domain name sales data from May 27 to June 9, compiled by leading domain industry media company dnjournal, Inc. Despite the fact that it's officially summer, a season when sales activity typically wanes, high-end sales are still going strong. Unsurprisingly .AI sales continue to be strong as they continue to benefit from the explosive growth of AI startups.
.AI domains took seven spots on the latest list, with the top spot going to Fantasy.ai, which sold for $120,000 dollars. Three other domains made it into the top half of the honor roll - fifth-ranked Hollywood.ai sold for $65,000, eighth-ranked Meld.ai for $47,500, and 10th-ranked Inventive.ai for $44,900 - with .AI helping the ccTLD take a total of 10 seats, two more than . com by two.
That leaves just two spots for non-.com gTLDs, but one of them is the third-highest sale reported in the category so far this year, the No. 2 (tied) Open.network, which sold for $100,000.
Sedo also announced the highest sales for .com domains with the RKX.com domain at #2 with $100,000 in sales.
