As a domain name investor, you should not only understand the rules of domain name registration, but also familiarise yourself with the relevant laws when registering a domain name. Whether intentional or unintentional, there is always the possibility of infringement. Therefore, it is ideal to be able to avoid future legal disputes at the initial stage. Recent news reports indicate that Meta, Inc., the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has filed multiple UDRP cases in defence of its "Meta" trademark. Shortly after the company's domain name was rebranded, enterprising domain owners scoured the entire lexicon and added "meta" left and right.

In February 2023, Meta began testing Meta Verified, a subscription package for its Meta creators, and Meta Verified was then officially launched in June 2023.
Since December 2023, Meta has filed multiple UDRP cases against domain names containing the keyword "MetaVerified":
buymetaverified.com
metaverified.site
metaverified.shop
metaverified.pro
metaverified.link
metaverified.info
metaverified.help
metaverified.club
metaverified.cc
metaverified.biz
metaverified.asia
metaverified.store
facebookmetaverified.com
metaverified.com.cn
metaverified.co.uk
metaverified.nl
metaverified.com.cn
metaverified.co.uk
metaverified.us
While some of them are still active, some of them have ended and the panel made a decision in Meta's favour.
Interestingly, the most important domain name does not appear in the UDRP: MetaVerified.com.
The domain was registered at the end of 2022 and therefore belonged to HugeDomains until Meta/Facebook officially announced its offering, but since 22 February 2023 it has been owned by Meta.
Apparently, Meta acquired the domain from HugeDomains, and although the transaction was done on Sedo, the price was never recorded.
