In August 2023, the second annual London Domain Name Summit (LDNS) was held in London, UK, and it used the domain name Summit.London. The conference achieved impressive results, ultimately attracting not only domain experts from London,
On November 4th, the founder of the London Domain Name Summit, Helmuts Meskonis, acquired the domain name DomainSummit.com for $17,500. The purpose of this acquisition is to upgrade "London Domain Name Summit" to "Domain Summit." The domain name transitioned from Summit.London.
During the 2nd annual London Domain Name Summit (LDNS) in London in August 2023, the event, which originally used the Summit.London domain, achieved remarkable success. It not only attracted domain elites from London, the UK, and Europe but also drew attendees from both sides of the Atlantic and other regions. This prompted Helmuts to seriously consider rebranding to accurately reflect the global impact of his show. This idea had been on the back burner, but it gained momentum when he attended the ICANN meeting in Hamburg, Germany a few weeks ago.
Recently, Helmuts acquired the DomainSummit.com domain for $17,500 from domain industry pioneer Mike Mann. With the domain now in hand, Meskonis has officially announced that LDNS is being renamed Domain Summit and will operate under this new name when the conference returns to London from August 19 to 21, 2024.
To find out how this all happened so quickly, a foreign domain industry professional contacted Helmuts and met him in Dubai after he attended the inaugural Domain Days conference last week. Meskonis will be flying back to London tomorrow.
Helmuts explained, "I went to ICANN78 in Hamburg after the 2nd London Domain Name Summit to network and promote next year's conference. I found that some larger organizations associated the Summit with being a UK-specific event. Many of our current exhibitors had the same view. While they were polite about my use of the .London domain, they suggested I should move to a .com domain."

"I've had my eye on the DomainSummit.com domain for a while, knowing that it's owned by Mike Mann, the founder of DomainMarket.com. Initially, I asked some friends if they could connect us, but I may not have asked enough people as I received no response. Nevertheless, I didn't want to make it widely known as it would attract the interest of brokers and drive the domain price to unattainable heights."
"So, I reached out to Mike directly, trying to be as transparent as possible. We had cordial negotiations, and we quickly reached an agreement of $17,500. While every dollar is important to me, I didn't want to press Mike as low as possible, especially as I respect him as a domain investor and didn't want to waste his time. I've purchased several high-value domains in the $15,000 to $50,000 range in the past, and I can tell you that Mike Mann left one of the most polite and professional impressions on me out of anyone I've ever interacted with—his sales landing page is nearly perfect!"

The newly named Domain Summit will transition from the previous domain to the new one in the coming days, and Helmuts is excited, declaring, "It's time for the London Domain Name Summit to go global!"
