.mobile Domain Registration Launches November 17, 2025

Dish DBS, Inc., a US-based company, announced that its .mobile top-level domain (TLD) will officially open for registration on November 17, 2025. The domain was originally delegated in 2016 but has remained inactive. The launch marks the official launch of the domain, which aims to provide a modern, mobile-first online identity platform for creators, startups, professionals, and forward-thinking brands.

According to the official timeline, .mobile domain registration will be available in several phases:

Sunrise Period: A 30-day period, beginning November 17, 2025, specifically provides priority registration for trademark owners registered with the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH).

Mobile Limited Registration Period: From December 18, 2025, to February 3, 2026, it offers exclusive packages, early registration access, and special pricing.

Early Access Program: From February 4, 2026, to February 18, 2026, anyone can register by paying a one-time priority fee.

Registration Open: Starting February 19, 2026, .mobile domains will be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

.mobile domains have no registration restrictions. As an "unrestricted top-level domain," anyone can register for any legal purpose.

The launch of .mobile domains may compete with the existing .mobi domain. .mobi was authorized in 2005 and currently has approximately 265,000 registered domains. The launch of .mobile domains may attract users seeking a modern, mobile-first online identity, impacting the market share of .mobi domains.
