Go.ai withdraws $1.4 million bid, top AI domain name deal falls through

Recently, the owner of the domain Go.ai publicly revealed on the X platform that the short, punchy .ai domain had received offers as high as $1.4 million and was close to a deal, but ultimately withdrew, resulting in the deal not being completed.

Owner @meabed stated in the post that he also works in the field of artificial intelligence and decided to retain Go.ai for future AI projects or brand development rather than sell it.

Currently, the Go.ai website displays the following information:

"The sale price is $7 million, which can also be used for joint ventures. We are open to exploring partnerships and joint ventures to develop this premium domain."

This suggests that the owner hasn't completely given up on the possibility of commercial collaboration, but clearly no longer intends to sell at the previous asking price.

If the deal is finalized, the price of Go.ai would be the highest ever for a .ai domain and high enough to rank among the top five premium domain name sales worldwide by 2025. The previous record for .ai transactions was held by Wisdom.ai, which fetched $705,000. Go.ai's bid was double that.

The short word "Go" embodies a strong sense of action and brand recognition, and combined with the ".ai" suffix, it is considered a highly commercially promising combination. This is a key reason why the buyer was willing to pay a seven-figure sum.

This failed transaction is undoubtedly regrettable. Had it gone through, it would not only have broken the record for .ai transactions but also reshaped the current AI domain name market. However, the seller's decision also reflects the scarcity and long-term strategic value of high-quality AI domain names.
