PAQT.ai Dispute Dismissed, Owner Retains Domain Name

A UDRP dispute over the domain name PAQT.ai was recently dismissed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), allowing the domain owner to retain the domain. The complainant, PAQT.com BV, a Dutch software company that holds the "PAQT" trademark and operates the official website PAQT.com, claimed that PAQT.ai is identical to its registered trademark and that the owner has neither the right nor the legitimate reason to hold the domain name.

The disputed domain name, PAQT.ai, was registered on January 14, 2025, and initially directed to a simple AI agent promotion page. In April 2025, the complainant first contacted the owner through LinkedIn, offering to purchase the domain for $250. The owner rejected the offer, stating that it planned to use the domain for its AI automation project and valued it at $40,000. The complainant subsequently raised its offer to $500, but was also rejected.

During the proceedings, the Panel noted that the Respondent's evidence indicated several preparatory actions to use the domain name, including editing promotional materials, setting up a Google Workspace account, and internal emails, long before contact with the Complainant. Although the domain website contained limited content and had since been deleted, the Panel concluded that this evidence was sufficient to establish "preliminary preparations for good faith use."

Ultimately, the Panel determined that the Complainant failed to demonstrate that the Respondent registered the domain in bad faith or lacked legitimate rights. Due to insufficient grounds for the complaint, the case was not deemed a case of reverse domain name hijacking (RDNH), but the domain transfer request was also not supported.

Decision: The transfer of PAQT.ai is denied, and the owner retains ownership of the domain name.
