Recently, domainincite reported that the Trump administration has deleted a number of .gov domain names related to child support, law enforcement, and clean energy since January 20, which has attracted widespread attention.

In the field of child support, the childtaxcredit.gov domain name was deleted. The domain name previously redirected to the whitehouse.gov page, introducing the child tax credit policy. Since 1997, this policy has provided tax breaks for American families, with each child receiving $2,000. Now that the relevant domain names and pages have been deleted, it may affect more than 10 million families in obtaining welfare information, and families who rely on online channels to apply for welfare may face inconvenience.

In terms of law enforcement, the nlead.gov domain name created during the Biden era disappeared. It was originally the domain name of the National Law Enforcement Accountability Database, which was intended to provide police misconduct records for law enforcement recruiters. After the domain name was deleted, the acquisition of these data was blocked, which may have an impact on the recruitment review of new police officers.
In addition, several domain names related to the Biden-era infrastructure investment bill, such as build.gov and invest.gov, were also deleted. At least 14 domain names were deleted this time. Most of these domain names are still registered, but they have been deleted from the .gov zone file and cannot be accessed normally. The Trump administration has not yet explained the reason for the deletion, and the subsequent information dissemination and work progress arrangements in related fields remain to be seen.
