On January 30, 2024, the domain trading market saw a major deal: the domain name Passport.xyz was sold for $50,000 (roughly Rs. 362,000). The deal was done by DomainHacks, not Swetha as previously rumored, and remarkably, the price far exceeds what the domain cost when it was purchased on NameJet in 2015 for $170.
Passport.xyz is now up and running. The new buyer, Gitcoin, appears to be using it for products in the Web3 security space. According to the website, Passport is a flexible, easy-to-use developer toolkit designed to protect projects from bots and bad actors. It helps users build strong online reputations and empowers project leaders to create trustworthy digital experiences that effectively block bots and Sybil attackers.
The deal also set a record for the highest exact match domain sales reported by Namebio. Here's a comparison of the sales of the domains in question

- Passport.info: $2,650 (September 8, 2017)
