Silo.ai acquired by AMD; will Silo.com be acquired later?

Recently, according to foreign media broke the news: computer chip manufacturing giant AMD acquired Finnish artificial intelligence startup Silo for $665 million.

SiloAI CEO and co-founder Peter Sarlin will continue to lead the SiloAI team as part of AMD's Artificial Intelligence Group. The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2024.

The deal is an aggressive attempt by AMD to accelerate its AI footprint; Silo will enable AMD to compete with industry giant NVDIA.

The Finnish company helps organizations develop and deploy AI models and operates under the Silo.ai domain. The company also owns the domain SiloAI.com which jumps to its main website.

Oddly enough, Silo does not own Silo.fi, which is operated by a Finnish villa and cafe business. but this could be good news for the owner of the domain Silo.com; Silo.com was registered in 1995 and currently jumps to BestWeb.com, which has a large number of premium, older domains.

I don't know if Silo will acquire Silo.com someday, but I'm glad to see that AI is raising awareness of the importance of branding premium domain names and driving the domain market to new heights.
