Car Rental upgraded from a four word domain to a one word Leasing.com!

Leasing.com is a UK company founded in 2000. The company started from a bedroom office and has grown to operate from a dedicated office in Cheshire, focusing on car rental. It has helped millions of consumers get great deals on new cars and won several awards.

In an interview at the end of 2022, as the company celebrates its 22nd anniversary, founder and CEO Dave Timmis looks back at the company's evolution and the efforts behind developing and maintaining the UK's largest car rental comparison site.

During the interview, it became clear that the company underwent a major branding shift, culminating in the acquisition of the domain name Leasing.com and the discontinuation of its four-word domain name ContractHireAndLeasing.com.

The domain name Leasing.com was registered in 1998 and appears to have been acquired from Domain Capital.

Surprisingly, it took a major UK car dealership 19 years to acquire such a long domain name, but the acquisition of Leasing.com in 2019 was definitely worth it!
