The company has partnered with partners and plans to compete for two new top-level domains.
Just last week two blockchain companies partnered to apply for the .blockchain domain, and this time two more blockchain companies plan to partner for the .chain and .super domains. With 4 companies applying for blockchain-related domain names in this very short period of time, there is reason to believe that they have discussed this. The goal is to expand blockchain-related domain suffixes.
"chain" means chain and "super" means super.

Blockchain company 3DNS (not to be confused with D3) and the .box top-level domain have announced a partnership with Optimism, an ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, to apply for .chain and .super in the next round of ICANN new top-level domain extensions.
3DNS is a network technology company focused on providing network load balancing and traffic management solutions. Its products include software and hardware appliances for optimizing network traffic and improving performance and reliability.
Optimism is a company focused on building solutions based on blockchain technology designed to improve the scalability and performance of blockchains. Their products and technologies typically involve second-tier scaling solutions for blockchain platforms such as Ether to increase transaction throughput and reduce fees.
The partnership will first roll out third-level domain solutions on .box so that people can register subdomains on .chain.box and .super.box. If it acquires top-level domains from ICANN, it will be able to offer example.chain and example.super domains. Presumably, the organization plans to offer some sort of priority for early registration of third-level domains.
If these two domains end up on the market, will you apply for them?
