MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals (Mytilineos S.A.) is a Greek-based industrial group with business units active in the metallurgical, energy and EPC sectors. The company was founded in 1990, initially as a metallurgical company engaged in international trade and participation, as a development of an old metallurgical family business, whose operations began in 1908.

The MYTILINEOS brand was founded in 1990 as a development of an old family business that was established in 1908 and has been in existence for 115 years. The company decided to change its name to Metlen Energy & Metals and upgraded the former domain name Mytilineos.com to MetlenGroup.com.

Mytilineos.com was registered in September 2010. Surprisingly MetlenGroup.com was registered on May 20, 2024 . That is, it was registered less than 1 month ago. Not sure if the company registered it themselves or bought it from someone else.

The switch from Mytilineos.com to the new domain name is not a simple case of domain name rebranding, as the name has been in use in Greece and internationally for more than a century.

But that didn't stop Evangelos Mytilineos, the company's Chairman and CEO, from delivering a touching and decisive speech at the Annual General Meeting.

During the event, Mr. Mytilineos said:

"This is an important milestone for me, but also a challenging moment, because after 115 years, whichever name you choose, it won't be the same as the one that came before it.MYTILINEOS has acquired an iconic character, something that we are all proud of.

As difficult as it is for me, because the company is like my third child, we are motivated and committed to reaching new heights that no Greek company has ever conquered. The name Sacrifice - because that's what it is in my mind - proves that if we are ready to take such a drastic step, then nothing can stop us from moving forward."

This is an example of the company's strong commitment to its employees and the quality of its products, no matter what brand they are under.
