Elon Musk's Tesla acquired the Tesla.com domain name in 2016 for $11 million. Since then, the company has established itself as a global leader in large-scale electric vehicle production.

Tesla got its name from Nikola Tesla, a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer and futurist. Therefore, some may argue that the use of the Tesla brand is not exclusively owned by Tesla Motors.

Elon Musk and Tesla lawyers think otherwise: the company filed a lawsuit against Tesla Power, an Indian company that produces lead-acid batteries. The lawsuit claims trademark infringement, even though the Indian company responds that it does not manufacture vehicles.
The Indian company, which operates through the domain names TeslaPowerUSA.com and .in, aims to fight the electric car giant in Indian courts.
Meanwhile, TeslaPower.com is being sold by Afternic and Media Options owns Tesla.tv.
